Story
Pinky, a young naive girl, goes to work in a spa at a private clinic. She is keenly interested in everything that happens, everything for her is new and exciting. At work, she meets Millie and is enthusiastic about her. By coincidence, Pinky takes an empty place in Milli's rented apartment, where their mistress is the strange Willie, a pregnant artist, Edgar's wife. All three women are involved in difficult emotional relationships.

Creation History
Altman drew the plot of the film from his dream, which he did not fully understand, but, nevertheless, recorded, intending to shoot without a script. 20th Century Fox agreed to fund the film with an eye on Altman's reputation. The script was completed before filming, but, as in most Altman films, was only preliminary.
The film was often shown on television, gradually becoming a cult .
