Nemetschek

The company was founded in 1963 by professor Georg Nemechek and was then called the Design Bureau for the construction industry , the main activity of which was the design of load-bearing structures. At the same time, the bureau was one of the first among the enterprises in this industry to use a computer in its activities and developed software for its own needs. In 1977, Nemechek began implementing the Statik 97/77 software system for use in the civil engineering sector.

At the Hanover Fair 1980, Nemecek presented a software package for integrated calculations and the construction of standard building elements for capital structures. This product made it possible for the first time to use CAE (Computer-aided engineering) systems on microcomputers and for a long time remained one of a kind.

In 1981, the company Nemetschek Programmsystem GmbH was founded, which was engaged in the marketing of software products; the development of programs was carried out as before in the design bureau of Georg Nemechek. Allplan's core product, a CAD system for architects and engineers, appeared in 1984. With its help, designers were able to simulate buildings in three-dimensional space. In the late 80s, Nemechik began to expand and entered the international market: in 1996, the company had subsidiaries in eight European countries, partners in sales of products in nine European countries, and since 1992 another developing territorial unit in Bratislava (Slovakia) . In the late 90s, the first acquisitions of other enterprises were added here, for example, Friedrich + Lochner , a manufacturer of structural statics programs.

The company, since 1994 called Nemechek AG, was listed on the stock exchange in 1999 and has since been listed in Frankfurt in the Prime Standard segment. This was followed by a series of acquisitions of enterprises, including the largest acquisition - the American company Diehl Graphsoft (now Vectorworks , which offers the Vectorworks software product) and MAXON Computer with the Cinema 4D software package for visualization and animation. In 2006, consolidation times were replaced by the following acquisitions: the acquisition of the Hungarian company Graphisoft and the Belgian SCIA International contributed to the fact that Nemechek became the leading manufacturer of software for AEC (architecture, construction, engineering) in Europe. The company participates in numerous industry associations, for example, Nemecek is, among other things, a member of the Union of BuildingSMART and the German Society for Ecological Construction (DGNB).

Since 2008, Nemechek AG has been operating as a holding company and operates in four areas: planning (architectural and engineering structures), construction, operation and multimedia. Under the roof of the holding, 12 brands of products are sold quite independently.

Allplan

The company Allplan GmbH, located in Munich, was founded on January 1, 2008. The company has been developing and selling for many years the well-known main product of Nemecek - the Allplan family of software products. According to the enterprise’s own data, in 2009 about 400 employees were employed here (2012). Allplan is a fundamental software for architects, civil engineers and administrative managers, serving the purpose of planning and use of buildings and applied throughout Europe. The Allplan Campus product is designed specifically for students - an online resource for schoolchildren, students and teachers, offering download programs, films for e-learning and training materials for future architects, draftsmen or engineers.

Graphisoft

Graphisoft is a software maker for architects operating in many countries. The company was founded in 1982 and today has more than 230 employees. Its main office is in Budapest, and foreign branches - in the USA, Great Britain, Spain, Japan and Singapore. According to the company, ArchiCAD software for architects is used in more than 80 countries.

Vectorworks

Vectorworks, formerly Diehl Graphsoft in Columbia, Maryland , is engaged in the development and worldwide implementation of design software. About 90 employees are employed here (2009). The Vectorworks product line offers professional design solutions for architecture, interior decoration, the entertainment industry, horticulture, landscape design, and engineering. According to the manufacturer, the Vectorworks product is used in 85 countries.

Nemetschek scia

Founded in 1974, Scia (abbreviated as Scientific Applications - application systems for scientific applications), located in the Belgian city of Herc de Stad, develops and implements software for calculating static values, designing and manufacturing load-bearing structures in the main specialization in information construction modeling (BIM). Nemetschek Scia is a 100% subsidiary of Nemecek AG and has more than 100 employees in 10 territorial divisions around the world.
