History
The Severonickel Club was created in 1957 at the metallurgical plant. In 2000 it was renamed Monchegorsk-Severonickel, and since 2009 it has been renamed Kola MMC. Repeated winner of the championship of the Murmansk region. The club spent 7 seasons in the major league of the USSR (the best place is the 12th). In the championships of Russia in the major league - 7 seasons (the best place is the 8th). The largest victory was won on November 24, 1993 over the royal “ Vympel ” (11: 3). The team suffered the largest defeat from the Nizhny Novgorod “ Start ” (0:13).
In the 2000s, the team repeatedly won the first league tournaments, and also won prizes that provided the right to upgrade in the classroom. But she exercised her right to transfer to the class of the strongest only once (after her victory in 2002); in other cases, the refusal was motivated by a lack of necessary funding.
In the summer of 2012, it was decided to disband the team of masters, who performed in the first group of the major league. The club exists as a youth sports school taking part in all-Russian children and youth competitions.
