Story
A small company in New York , consisting of eight employees, collects information leaks for the CIA in the media and other open sources about the work of this organization in various regions of the world. Joe Turner (a business alias - “Condor”), an employee of this office, leaves the office for a short time to buy sandwiches for his colleagues during the lunch break. Because of the rain, he cuts off the path and leaves the office through the back door; this, in the end, saves his life: returning to the office with dinners, he discovers that all his colleagues were murdered by someone in cold blood and methodically - including the girl he loved. Turner later finds out that the employee who decided not to go to work that day was also killed - he was killed at home, in bed ...
The motive of this massacre is incomprehensible to Condor - although he was an employee of the CIA, he was engaged, like his entire department, in purely paper work and did not deal with secret documentation. Condor calls the boss on the phone, reports what happened and requests a meeting with management representatives. The CIA leadership sends Agent Vicks who has flown from Washington to meet with Condor. However, the cautious and prudent Condor already at the meeting suddenly realizes that Wicks actually plans to eliminate him as an unnecessary witness, using his close friend as a bait. Nevertheless, Turner manages to survive, but now he realizes that he can not trust his colleagues from the CIA. The killer Joubert with his assistants begins to hunt Condor.
Condor captures a stranger named Katie Hale and hides in her apartment, from where he begins an independent investigation. In the end, Turner gets to the head of this conspiracy and tries to get information from him. He manages to find out that he is being pursued by a secret organization created inside the CIA, on whose trail he himself, without suspecting it, attacked during his research in the office. But the leader of the conspirators is unexpectedly killed by Joubert, who now has a new employer. Joubert has nothing against Condor and warns that he will be killed sooner or later. "A car will come in, in which your best friend will be sitting, they will lure you inside and deal with the end."
After some time, Turner meets his boss Higgins. Turner tells him that a letter describing this story will go to the New York Times , whose office they are in. “Are you sure they will print it?” Higgins asks him.
