Story
Billy Flynn, a former boxing champion, is now involved in horses. This brings him enough money to raise a boy whom his wife left him 7 years ago. The boy respects the champion, who is now working to give him at least some future, but suddenly the ex-wife returns ...

The Russian translation “Champion” does not convey all the nuances of the original name: although the English word “Champ” can be understood as an abbreviation for “Champion”, it also means “gnawing bit”, “rushing into battle”. Some translators of the film leave the name - as a nickname - without translation: "Champ."
