Story
The plot is based on the life of the Italian artist Caravaggio (1571-1610), the love triangle of Caravaggio ( Nigel Terry ), Lena ( Tilda Swinton ) and Ranuccio ( Sean Bean ), as well as the artist's use of tramps, drunkards and courtesans as sitters for the deeply significant ( usually religious) paintings.
Caravaggio on his deathbed in Porto Ercole . His past passes before his eyes, the main emphasis in which is the relationship with the muscular sitter Ranuccio and his mistress, who posed for him during the most fruitful "Roman period" in the images of the holy martyrs.
