Ivanovo (Tyomkinsk district)

Ivanovo is a village in the Smolensk region of Russia , in the Temkinsk district . It is located in the eastern part of the region 15 km south-west of Temkin on the right bank of the Ugra River. Population - 8 inhabitants ( 2007 ). It is part of the Medvedev rural settlement.

Attractions

  • Monument to archeology: 18 spherical mounds up to 2.1 m high 1.5 km southeast of the village on the banks of the Ugra. They were poured in the XI - XIII centuries by the Vyatichi .
  • In the village, a Soviet writer was born, awarded the Order of the Red Star Zhiga I.F.
