Zimonino is a village in the Smolensk region of Russia , in the Shumyachsky district . The population is 304 inhabitants ( 2007 ). Located in the southwestern part of the region, 35 km west of Shumyachy , on the right bank of the Oster River at the confluence of the Peschanka stream. The border with Belarus runs along the Ostrov. The administrative center of the Nadejkovichi rural settlement.

The village of Zimonino is the birthplace of the Hero of the Soviet Union Yevgeny Gerasimovich Yavenkov .

Attractions
- Monument of archeology of all-Russian significance: ancient settlement and 38 mounds 1 km southeast of the village. Spherical mounds up to 3.5 m high are sprinkled with the Old Russian population in the XI- early XIII century .
