Story
After the events of the film Psycho , Norman Bates was placed in a psychiatric hospital. There, he is imbued with paternal feelings for the child patient Alex West, who is in psychological shock after he killed his rapist stepfather. Norman becomes second father to Alex.
After 27 years, Norman Bates dies, but manages to bequeath to Alex a motel and his house (which have been empty since his arrest) in order to give Alex a chance for a new life. Alex moves into his house and with the help of a traveling teenage girl, Willie decides to reopen the motel to do business. Suddenly, he begins to see the silhouette of Mrs. Bates in the window of her bedroom, and then she herself begins to flicker before his eyes. Whoever it is - Norma Bates herself or just her ghost - but this someone is trying in every way to expel Alex from Bates's house and in no way let him open the motel.
Creation History
The film was planned as a pilot release for the whole series, but because of the low ratings of the episode, the series was never shot. Norman Bates appears briefly only at the beginning of the film; his role was played by actor Kurt Paul, who was the understudy of Anthony Perkins in Psycho 2 and Psycho 3 . Perkins himself refused to participate in the project. At the moment, there is the Motel Bates series, events unfold over time in which Norman and his mother just purchased a motel
