The population is 22,415 inhabitants ( 2002 ). It was founded by the Austrian Duke Rudolf IV on April 7, 1365 under the name Rudolfovo ( Slovenian. Rudolfovo ). After the First World War and the collapse of Austria-Hungary, the official name of the city was Novo-Mesto [1] .
The city is the pharmaceutical company Krka , the state-owned company for the production of automotive components "TPV Group" [2] ; basketball club " Krka ".
