History
Initially, on the site of modern Alto Lucero, there was a settlement of Totonaks , which were carved after the arrival of the Spaniards. For a long time these places remained uninhabited, until in 1798 Cecilia Lucero Pacheco decided to engage in agriculture in these places, and a settlement was founded, named in his honor "Pacheco". However, the place originally chosen for the settlement turned out to be unhealthy, there was not good drinking water, which led to diseases among the settlers. In 1860, it was decided to move the settlement, and it was located in its modern place, called "Alto Lucero Pacheco".
In 1991, the name of the city was abbreviated to Alto Lucero.
