Tenabo ( Spanish: Tenabo ) is a city in Mexico , Campeche , the administrative center of the eponymous municipality. The population according to the 2010 census was 7,543 people.

General information
The name Tenabo comes from the Mayan : ti and nab , which can be translated as a place where they are divided into four parts .
Tenabo was founded in 1450 , after the fall of Mayapan .
In 1544, the settlement came under the control of the Spanish colonialists.
In 1916, Tenabo was assigned the status of a villa , and in 1960 - the status of a city [2] .
