Samalayuka ( Spanish: Samalayuca ) - a village in Mexico , Chihuahua , is part of the municipality of Juarez . The population according to the 2010 census was 1,474 people  .

The village is located in a desert zone known as Medanos de Samalayuka .
It was founded in 1880 , during the construction of the Mexico City - Juarez Railway.
In 1979, a thermal power plant was built here to provide electricity to the northern part of Chihuahua.
