Ojinaga ( Spanish: Ojinaga ), the official name is Manuel Ojinaga ( Spanish: Manuel Ojinaga ) [4] - a city in Mexico , Chihuahua , is part of the municipality of Okinaga and is its administrative center. The population according to the 2010 census was 22,744 people [2] .

History
The settlement was founded on June 2, 1715 by Juan Antonio Trasviniy and Retes under the name of San Francisco de la Junta de los Rios ( Spanish San Francisco de la Junta de los Ríos ). On October 23, 1857, the settlement was granted the status of villa , and the name was changed to Manuel Ochinaga in honor of the Mexican politician, military man and participant in the struggle against the interventionists Manuel Ochinaga . The status of the city was assigned to the settlement on December 1, 1948 [5] .
