Aldama ( Spanish. Aldama ) - a city in Mexico , the state of Tamaulipas , is part of the eponymous municipality and is its administrative center. The population, according to the 2010 census, was 13,661 people.

History
The settlement was founded on April 15, 1790 by Don Miguel Ignacio de Escandon and Liera, called Presa del Rey.
On November 25, 1828, the settlement was renamed Aldam, in honor of Ignacio Aldama , a participant in the war of independence , and was given the status of a villa [2] .
