Museum of Music ( fr. Musée de la musique ) - the state museum of musical instruments in Paris. The basis of the museum’s collection was the collection of instruments of the Paris Conservatory . These are mainly instruments for performing classical and popular music: Italian lutes and violins ( Stradivarius , Guarneri , Amati ), French and Flemish harpsichords , French pianos by Erard and Pleyel , and Adolf Sachs instruments.

Tools are presented by era and category. The audio headphones given at the entrance to the museum make it possible to hear the music played on the musical instruments presented in the expositions.
The Music Museum is part of the Paris Music City , uniting a whole group of musical institutions in the La Villette quarter of the 19th arrondissement of Paris .
The music city was built by architect Christian de Portzamparc and inaugurated in 1995 .
