At-Tikriti was the head of the Iraqi intelligence service. He was the ambassador of Iraq to Turkey and Spain until mid-1997. He was one of the famous politicians in Iraq. Rifaa al-Tikriti headed the General Intelligence Agency (RBM) in the late 90s. On October 11, Rifaa al-Tikriti suddenly died of a heart attack, a week after his resignation from his post, which passed to the son of President Kusei [1] . It is believed that Rifaa al-Tikriti was killed on the orders of Saddam Hussein because the RBM failed both domestically and abroad, according to another information because al-Tikriti was unable to prevent the leak of information about the signing of the Iraqi-Russian secret treaty on supplies to Baghdad of ultramodern armored vehicles and equipment for air defense systems [1] [2] . He was buried in his hometown of Tikrit .
