Content
Story
Pete St. John, a successful political consultant, is invited to take part in the campaign of Jerome Cade, a little-known Ohio businessman who hopes to take the place of Senator Sam Hastings. St. John confronts Arnold Billings, a public relations expert whose firm works for Cade. Defending himself, Billings begins to listen to Pete's phones, sabotages his private jet and tries to quarrel him with customers. Between them begins a war that makes St. John look at himself from the side, he wonders if his former partner Wilfred and his ex-wife Helene are wrong, claiming that his success rests on the exploitation of other people.
