Located 2 km northwest of the Patriarshaya station. Popova Lyada - the most western settlement of the Lipetsk region .
The village was founded in 1920 .
The word Lyada means a wasteland, thicket, abandoned and overgrown with forests, neglected thickets ( along Dahl ). The village is settled on land previously owned by the priest .
