Famous filmmakers were involved in the work on this epic - screenwriters Anthony Burgess and Suzo Checca D'Amico , cameramen Armando Nannuzzi and David Watkin , composer Maurice Jarre , artists Gianni Quaranta (sets) and Marcel Escoffier (costumes) and a serious cast.
