Bordetella [2] ( lat. Bordetella ) is a genus of bacteria that unites small gram-negative immobile coccobacilli growing on the Bordet-Zhangu medium and on casein-coal agar ; aerobes , do not form a spore , are biochemically inactive; pathogens of whooping cough and pertussis-like diseases in humans.
