Maybara Station ( Japanese 米 原 駅 Maybara-eki ) is a railway station located in the Japanese city of Maybara . It is the southern terminus of the Hokuriku Line of the West Japan Railway Company and the border station between the JR West and JR Central control zones over the Tokaido line .

The station opened in 1889. Since 1987, it has been operated by JR West, although the Shinkansen lines are owned by JR Central. The station has a tactile coating .
