Geography

The village is located in a picturesque place on the banks of the Dniester River , 30 km from the capital of Moldova, Chisinau and 10 km from the district center of Criuleni .

History

The first mention in the annals is found in 1604. The village is famous for a large number of natural springs. Some of them are very specific in their chemical composition. They are also a national historical heritage, since their age is several centuries, so they are under state protection.

The village also has a church, unique in its architecture, the only similar analogue of which can be seen only in Romania .

According to the 2004 census , 2089 people live in Onitskany village (1011 men, 1078 women) [3] .
