James Anderson (born Doctor James Ánderson ; 1739 - October 15, 1808 ) is a Scottish economist , farmer and lawyer, one of the authors of the theory of differential land rent .

Biography
At the age of 15 after the death of his parents, Anderson inherited a family farm in Midlothian . His contribution to science was mainly related to agriculture.
In 1768, he married Margaret Seton, who died in 1788 .
