At the 1908 Games in London, Andersen competed in the weight category up to 73.0 kg. Having won two fights, he lost in the semifinals, but was able to win the meeting for third place and received a bronze medal.
At the next 1912 Olympic Games in Stockholm, Andersen participated in the category up to 75.0 kg, but stopped in the first round.
