At the 1908 Games in London, Stanke and Willy Duskoff competed among the twos without a helmsman. They did not finish in the semifinals, but still ranked third and received bronze medals.
At the next 1912 Olympic Games in Stockholm, Stanke was competing among the singles. His best result was reaching the quarter-finals.
