XMMS2 ( X-platform Music Multiplexing System 2 ) is the new generation of the XMMS audio player. This is a player with completely rewritten code that is nothing like XMMS. While Peter Alm , one of the original authors of XMMS, was responsible for the initial design and programming of XMMS2 (from late 2002 to early 2003 ), [1] he has since transferred responsibility for contributing to the project to Tobias Ründström and Anders Gustafsson . Clients
XMMS2 is designed for a client-server architecture where clients interact with XMMS2 over a network . Thus, in order to manage XMMS2, you must install the XMMS2 client. For XMMS2, there are many diverse clients (both in architecture and implementation, and in functionality), some of them are very simple and perform only a few functions, while others are more functional.
