Karlo Vicente Pedersoli ( Italian: Carlo Vicente Pedersoli ); October 31, 1929 , Naples - June 27, 2016; better known under the pseudonym Bud Holder ( English Bud Spencer ) - Italian actor, screenwriter, producer and composer. Biography
Childhood and youth
Born in Naples in the family of the manufacturer. Two years later, his sister is born. In 1935, Pedersoli goes to school, in 1937 begins to engage in swimming. In 1940, he moved with his family to Rome , where he entered the gymnasium and enrolled in the swimming section. In 1946 he finished his studies and entered the university at the Faculty of Chemistry. However, circumstances did not allow him to get a higher education, as the family moved again - this time to Latin America. There he worked on an assembly line in Rio de Janeiro , a librarian in Buenos Aires , secretary of the Italian embassy in Uruguay.
Swimming
In 1948 he returned to Italy and entered the law faculty of the university. He does not cease to go in for sports and becomes the champion of Italy in swimming freestyle. In training, he meets his future shooting partner Terence Hill, who played for the same team. Pedersoli became the first Italian athlete to swim 100 meters in less than a minute. He won the championship in Italy for seven years in a row. In 1952, he participated in the Summer Olympics in Helsinki and ranks fifth in the freestyle. At the 1956 Olympic Games in Melbourne, he took 11th place and in 1957 completed his sports career.
Family
In 1960, Carlo Pedersoli returned to Rome and married Maria Amato ( Italian: Maria Amato , 1923 ) (he met her 15 years before the wedding). In 1961, their son Giuseppe was born, a year later - the daughter of Christian, in 1972 the second daughter - Diamante.
Music
Between 1960 and 1964 He worked as a composer at the RCA recording studio, wrote songs for other singers (including Rita Pavoni ), and even conducts small tours, accompanying himself on the guitar. In 1964 , after the death of his father-in-law, Pedersoli terminated his contract with RCA and opened a small film studio where he made animal documentaries for the Italian TV channel RAI .
Cinema
For the first time Pedersoli appeared on the screen in 1951 , starring as an extra in the role of a Roman legionary in the movie “ Camo ridges ”. In 1967 , thanks to his wife’s connections, he received an offer from Giuseppe Colizzy to star in a serious western “ God will forgive ... I - no! ( Ital. Dio perdona ... Carlo chose his pseudonym in honor of beloved actor Tracy Spencer (hence the name Spencer). The name, according to one version, he chose because of his favorite brand of beer - Budweiser . According to another, the name comes from the American colloquial "buddy" (buddy).

In 2005, Pedersoli claimed the post of Prime Minister of the Lazio region from the “ Forward, Italy ” party, but failed because of the poor performance of the party by Silvio Berlusconi .
