Photobiennale

The Photobiennale (also Photobiennale [1] [2] ) is an international exhibition of photographs held by the Moscow House of Photography every two years. Regularly held since 1996 in Moscow.

2008

The seventh international photography month in Moscow “Photobiennale 2008” took place from March 21 to May 30, 2008. Biennale exhibitions were held in the Manezh , in the Winzavod exhibition center, the Museum of Modern Art, GUM and in other galleries and halls [3] .

The program "Photobiennale 2008" is formed around three themes:

  1. "Light and color"
  2. "Amazement, or to be surprise"
  3. “Magnum is 60 years old!”

2010

The eighth international photography festival in Moscow “Photobiennale-2010” takes place from March 9 to June 27, 2010 as part of the Year of France in Russia . The main exhibitions of the Biennale are located in the halls of the Manege , the New Manege , the Moscow House of Photography , the State Museum of Contemporary Art of the Russian Academy of Arts, the Na Solyanka Gallery and other exhibition venues in Moscow.

The exhibitions “Photobiennale — 2010” are devoted to the following topics:

  • “Vive la France!”
  • "Retrospectives"
  • "Perspectives"

2012

The exhibitions “Photobiennale — 2012” are devoted to the following topics:

  • "Movie Photos"
  • "America in Focus"
  • "On the road"

The ninth international festival of photography in Moscow "Photobiennale 2012". Main exhibitions:

  • Miroslav Tikhiy - Artist with a bad camera
  • Sarah Moon - Black Hat
  • Arkady Shaikhet - Continued. 1928-1931
  • Liu Bolin - The Invisible Man
  • Alexander Slusarev -RETROSPECTIVE. PART 1

The tenth international photography festival in Moscow “Photobiennale 2014”. The exhibitions “Photobiennale — 2014” are devoted to the following topics:

  • "Visual Power"
  • "Starry sky"
  • "Visual Power"

  • Photographic essays by Alexander Slusarev
  • Shirin Neshat - Do not ask where love has gone
  • Jessica Leng - The Invisible
  • Zhenya Mironov - Building metaphors
  • Erwin Blumenfeld - Photographs, pictures, photomontage
  • Andrei Abramov - Simulators of the urban landscape

2016

The exhibitions “Photobiennale — 2016” are devoted to the following topics:

  • "Japan"
  • "Identity"
  • “Photography outside Moscow and St. Petersburg”

The eleventh international photo festival in Moscow "Photobiennale 2016". Main exhibitions:

  • Annie Leibovitz - Pirelli Calendar
  • Hiroshi Sugimoto - Past and Present in Three Parts
  • Pascal Colrat - Fox Soup
  • Zhenya Mironov - Rough sunset. Japanese plastic
  • Nikolay Bakharev, Vladimir Vorobyov, Vladimir Sokolayev - NSHF
