Biography

The Elizabeth McGovern family moved to Los Angeles when Elizabeth's father got a position as a law professor there. Elizabeth began working in the theater, while still at school, and after that she studied acting in San Francisco . She graduated from the Juilliard School in New York.

Already with her first roles, McGovern attracted attention. In 1980, Robert Redford invited her to his debut film “ Ordinary People ”. For her role in Milos Forman 's Ragtime , Elizabeth was nominated for an Oscar . The most famous role McGovern became the role in the movie " Once Upon a Time in America " by Sergio Leone . After this film, Elizabeth played a lot in the theater and starred in movies.

Elizabeth McGovern is the vocalist for the Sadie and the Hotheads.

Personal life

Since 1992, McGovern has been married to British director and producer Simon Curtis. They have two daughters, Matilda and Grace [4] [5] .

Currently lives in England and plays in the theater.
