SKIF MSU - a supercomputer developed on the basis of the SKIF-GRID supercomputer program and launched at Moscow State University on March 19, 2008 ; capable of producing about 47 TFLOPS (trillions of floating point operations per second). From June 2008 to November 2011, he was in the Top 500 most powerful computers in the world [1] (as of June 2008, SKIF MSU occupied the 37th place in the rating [2] , in 2009 - 82nd place [3] ).
Developed by Russian and Belarusian specialists and designed to quickly solve a large number of problems in various fields of science: aero and hydrodynamics, meteorology, magnetic hydrodynamics, high energy physics, geophysics, in the financial sphere (when processing large volumes of transactions on stock exchanges), climatology, cryptography , computer simulation of drugs [4] .
