Biography

Raul began his career at Sportivo Luqueno , at the age of 17 he was bought by the Spanish club Real Zaragoza . There, in the 1982/83 season, he became the second La Liga scorer in the dispute. In 1985, Amarilla was bought by Barcelona . As part of the Catalans, he became the champion of Spain and the owner of the Spanish Cup .

Amarilla made perhaps the biggest mistake of his career by playing 2 matches for the youth national team of Spain . Subsequently, this did not allow one of the best scorers in the world at the turn of the 1980s-90s to play for the national team of Paraguay .

At the club level, upon returning to Paraguay, to Olimpia, starting in 1988, Amarilla achieved significant success by winning a number of domestic and international trophies.

Amarilla currently works as a football coach.
