Geography
In the north it borders with the Kakhovsky district , in the east with Novotroitsky , in the west with Alyoshkovsky , in the south with the Kalanchak district .

In the region there are 2 village councils and 18 village councils , and in the territories subordinate to them there are 2 urban-type villages ( Askania-Nova and Chaplinka), 6 villages and 33 villages.
