Internet Explorer Mobile (old name: Pocket Internet Explorer ; the abbreviation IE Mobile is used ) is a mobile web browser developed by Microsoft on the Trident engine . It is installed by default in Windows Phone and Windows CE operating systems.

The current version of Internet Explorer Mobile is based on the desktop version of Internet Explorer. The previous version was called Pocket Internet Explorer and shipped with Windows Mobile , however, it was not based on the desktop version of IE.
Internet Explorer Mobile 11, the latest supported version, is based on the desktop version of Internet Explorer 11 and comes with Windows Phone 8.1. The new Microsoft Edge browser has replaced Internet Explorer Mobile in Windows 10 Mobile.
