History
The history of the musical group Tierra Santa dates back to 1991, when the group Privacy was formed. Having recorded several demo tapes and having changed a number of musicians, by 1997 the composition of the team stabilizes as follows: Angel San Juan (also known by the pseudonym Angel) - vocals, guitar, Arturo Morras - guitar, Roberto Gonzalo - bass, Tomi - keyboards and Inaki - drums. At the same time, the name of the group changed to Tierra Santa . In 1997, the team recorded and released their debut album Medieval , which was designed in the classic heavy metal style. [1] The release brought the team fame on the national stage and since April 1998 the group has been touring Spain with Avalanch , and in the fall performs with Dio . In the future, the participants begin to prepare new material, along the way, soon concluding a contract with the label Locomotive Music . In April 1999, the second full-length album Legendario was released on this label, combining traditional heavy metal and power metal in the style of Iron Maiden with Spanish-language lyrics in its style. [1] The keyboards on the album were played by the new musician Oscar, who replaced the departed Tomi.
Also in 1999, the team recorded the song Flight of the Icarus for the tribute collection Transilvania 666 to the band Iron Maiden . In the fall of the same year, due to the increasing popularity of Tierra Santa , Locomotive Records re-released their debuted remastered album in digipack format. Team releases are successfully sold at home in Spain, as well as in Germany, Japan and Italy. In 2000, the next keyboard player changes took place: instead of the departed Oscar, Paco now manages the keys. A little later, the third album Tierras de Leyenda was released , regarded by many critics as one of the best in the creative work of the team. [1] A year later, Sangre de Reyes came out , which also earned a very favorable press response. Shortly after, Tierra Santa leaves keyboard player Paco and the group has to record an Indomable album without keyboards.
