Officially, the title of the rulers of the empire before its disappearance sounded like "a loyal emperor and autocrat of the whole East , Iveria and Zamorya " ( Greek Πιστος βασιλευς και Αυτοκρατωρ - πασης Ανατολης, ΙβιρωΠ жени VIII Paleologist , refused claims to the throne of Constantinople and resigned in 1282 the title of "Emperor of the Romans . "
