Konstantin Vasilievich Simonov (born 1974 ) is a Russian political scientist , former president of the Russian Political Situation Center (CCPR), founder and director of the National Energy Security Foundation (NESF). First Vice-Rector for External Communications, Head of the Department of Applied Political Science, Financial University under the Government of the Russian Federation .

Deportation from Latvia
On November 14, 2014, K.V. Simonov arrived in Riga at the invitation of the international media club “Format A3” to meet with residents of Latvia on economic cooperation between Russia and the European Union . According to Simonov, “before the flight we made a request to the Latvian Foreign Ministry and we were told that Latvia has no complaints to me, and I can safely come. However, on the same day, by the decision of the Minister of Internal Affairs, Rihards Kozlovskis, he was included in the list of persons prohibited from entering Latvia. Representatives of the immigration service of the State Border Guard of Latvia took K.V. Simonov directly from the restaurant where he dined and deported the scientist from the republic without any explanation [2] [3] .
