Rename Project
On December 1, 2006, at a regular plenary meeting of the district Duma of the Taimyr Autonomous District, a resolution was adopted according to which it is proposed to return the former name “Land of Emperor Nicholas II” to the Northern Earth Archipelago, as well as rename its islands in honor of the family members of the last emperor . So, the island of Komsomolets proposed to rename the island of St. Mary. [3]
However, in 2007, with the district entering the structure of the Krasnoyarsk Territory, consideration of this issue at the federal level was suspended. [four]
