The early years
From the age of six he studied at the Vorskla Sports School in Poltava. With the arrival of Dnipro, Evgeni Kucherevsky became a solid player in the foundation, winning the championship with the bronze team.
Dynamo (Kiev)
In the summer of 2005, Rotan moved to Kiev Dynamo . He immediately got a permanent place at the base. But the second season in the Kiev team was not the best in Ruslan's club career - Rotan lost his place at the base, received some very unpleasant injuries, had no constant playing practice and, as a result, left Dynamo, having played 50 matches for the team and won championship and two cups.

On May 11, 2016, after the Dnipro lost the second match of the Ukrainian Cup semi- final against Zorya, Rotan hit the referee, for which he received a six-month suspension [5] , subsequently reduced to 3 months [6] . In August of that year, after numerous rumors about his departure from Dnipro, he signed a new contract with the Dnipropetrovsk club according to the 2 + 1 scheme [7] .
July 20, 2016, having entered the field in a match with Volyn, he became the champion in the number of official matches held for Dnipro (416), beating Roman Schneiderman [8] .
The match with Zvezda , which took place on May 7, 2016, became Ruslan’s 350th match in the Ukrainian Championship, including the 300th for Dnipro [9] .

And in the last game of the selection by an exact blow, Ruslan brought a draw in an away match with Georgia , and it was this draw that brought Ukraine to the world Cup.
