Biography
Born into a large family of a railway employee. Father, Semyon Gavrilovich Milyutin, was an artistically gifted nature: he organized an amateur choir in his native city from the local intelligentsia, which he successfully directed, wrote a singing letter for the choir; also owned a violin playing, painted. Mother, Elena Mussievna Milyutina, was a housewife. The family had seven children - five daughters and two sons.
He entered the Central Music College in Leningrad , in the violin class of Professor Yu. I. Eidlin. He studied musical and theoretical subjects in the theoretical classes of the Leningrad Academic Capella . Carried away by conducting, he successfully auditioned with Professor N. Malko and was admitted to the conducting department of the Leningrad Conservatory named after Rimsky-Korsakov in class A.V. Gauka . After Gauka's departure to Moscow, he transferred to the class of I. A. Musin , from whom he graduated with honors from the conservatory in 1936 . Graduates of the class of I. A. Musin in the same year were conductors O. A. Dimitriadi and K. A. Simeonov . In parallel with his studies at the conservatory, he directed the choir of the Ukrainian House of Enlightenment in Leningrad, taught at children's music schools; For three years he worked at the conservative opera studio, where he conducted the performances of Eugene Onegin, Rigoletto, and The Tsar’s Bride.
Since 1936 he lived and worked in the Moldavian Autonomous Soviet Socialist Republic , first in Tiraspol , since 1940 in Chisinau .
With the start of World War II, he was mobilized into the army. He fought on the Karelian and 3rd Ukrainian fronts. Demobilized in 1946 with the rank of captain and returned to Chisinau to his former position in the Moldavian State Philharmonic .
He created the State Symphony Orchestra of Moldova, in 1936-1953 he was its chief conductor and artistic director. Under his direction, the orchestra was performed by D. Oistrakh , M. Rostropovich , E. Gilels , B. Davidovich , M. Weiman , D. Bashkirov , J. Ogdon , Yu. Sitkovetsky , G. Ginsburg , N. Beilina , M. Greenberg, G. Strakhilevich et al. Combined performing activities with teaching at the Moldavian State Conservatory named after G. Muzichchesku ( Academy of Music, Theater and Fine Arts since 1998): from 1950 - associate professor, from 1965 until the end of his life - professor at the Department of Opera Training; also led a symphonic conducting class.
The students of B. Milyutin are conductors T. Gurtova, S. Lunkiewicz , G. Shramko, Yu. Flore and others. In the 1960s, B.
