Louis Mans

Ludovik (circa 800 - January 9, 867 ) - abbot of the monasteries of Saint-Denis , Saint-Riquier and Saint-Vandril (Fontenel) ; illegitimate son of Count Maine Rorgon I and Rotruda , daughter of the Emperor of the West , Charlemagne and Hildegard .

Biography

Louis was chancellor under his uncle, Emperor Louis I the Pious , and then with his son Charles II Lysom . Under Charles, he is referred to as the abbot of the three abbeys - Saint-Denis, Saint-Riquier and Saint-Vandril.

In 858, he, along with his stepbrother Gozlen, was captured by the Normans , who released them only after paying a large ransom.
