Oyashio-class submarines

Submarines of the type "Oyashio" ( Jap. お や し お 型 艦 艦 ) - a series of Japanese NAPL. Designed in the early 1990s , the construction of the first boat began in 1994 . In total, 11 submarines were built in the series, the last of which went into operation in 2008 . They are the development of the Harusio type , in comparison with which the Oyashio type has a greater displacement due to the installation of airborne sonars . They have a housing made using rubber sound-absorbing elements.
