Somozas ( Spanish: Somozas ) - a municipality in Spain , is part of the province of La Coruña as part of the autonomous community of Galicia . The municipality is part of the Ferrol district (mosquito). It covers an area of 71.37 km². The population is 1342 people (as of 2010 ). The distance to the provincial capital is 76 km.

The AC-110 road connects Somozas with the AG-64 highway ( Ferrol - Villalba ).
Somosas Football Club performs in the season 2016/2017 in the first group of the division of the Segund B  . In 2014, the club took part in the Spanish Cup 2014/2015 draw and passed to the second qualifying stage.
Somosas became one of the places where oil products collected after the crash of the Prestige tanker were stored  .
