Shikahogh Reserve ( armenian Շիկահողի արգելո названия ; the names Shikahogsky and Shikaogsky are also found) - a reserve in the Syunik region in southern Armenia in the basins of the Tsav and Shikakhog rivers on the northern slopes of the Meghri Range, at heights of 700-2,400 m. It was created in 1958 and covers an area of 10,000 ha. Near Tsavsky NKR reserve.

The main object of protection are plant and animal communities of virgin oak - hornbeam forests growing at heights of 1,000–2,200 m. There is a yew grove, an oriental beech grove.
At altitudes of 2,200-2,400 m - sparse oak forests.
At high altitudes (2,400-2,600 m) mixed communities of hazel , birch , mountain ash and juniper grow, and even higher - subalpine meadows.
In the lower zone - woodlands of Araxin oak , overgrowth of a tree , there is a frame , pomegranate , maple [1] .
Ivy , persimmon , plane tree , walnut , obvonnik and occasionally chestnut and dzelkva are found . Often there are different types of orchis , killer whale , poppy , colchicum , merendera .
Rare species of relict ferns grow here - common cooper ( Ophioglossum vulgatum ) and Crimean bracken ( Pteridium tauricum ), as well as a large number of rare and endemic species - Transcaucasia snowdrop ( Galanthus transcaucasicus ), Artyushenko snowdrop ( Galanthus artjusa confucusa ) mixed , Zangzezur pear ( Pyrus zangezura ), various orchids , symphyandra zangezura ( Symphyandra zangezura ), St. John's wort ( Hypericum eleonorae ), wild strawberry Takhtadzhyana , capitol Chikhayev and others.
In total, 18 species of plants growing here are included in the Red Book of the former USSR, and about 80 in the Red Book of Armenia .
The fauna of the reserve has not yet been recorded. Of the bats, there is a small horseshoe carrier , a sharp-eared night-lamp, and others. Of the birds registered in the Red Book of Armenia, there are Caspian turkey , bearded , black vulture , griffon vulture and others. Of the reptiles - yellow-puzik , gyurza and so on . Of the mammals, the badger , brown hare , marten , forest cat , Armenian mouflon and chamois are common [1] [2] .
