There is a central lowland plain around Lake Valencia and to the south where Lyanos Venezuela begins.
There are a large number of anticlines, synclines, diaclases, fractures and faults . One of the most important is one of Victoria, south of Valencia. This area has moderate tectonic activity.
Near Puerto Cabello there is a group of small Islands . The main ones are Isla Larga, Isla Santo Domingo, Alcatraz Island and Isla del Rey. Isla Larga is the largest and 1855 meters long. It is part of the San Esteban National Park.
There are also several islands on Lake Valencia. Some others have disappeared after rising Sea Levels since the 1970s. Isla del Berro. ("Donkey Island") is the largest island of the lake.
Carabobo soils are fertile. Sulfide soils (primarily fluids and irrigators) predominate. There are also vertical threats with Westert's suborders.
