Biography
Margaret Cynthia Field was born in London . Her father was a judge in the English district of Lysister, and her mother was a cousin of Robert E. Lee .
Starting to star, Margaret changed her name to Virginia. She starred in more than forty films, including Waterloo Bridge (1940), Hudson's Bay (1941) and Yankees at the Court of King Arthur (1949). In the late 1930s, she starred in the 20th Century Fox series of films about Mr. Moto.
Field was married three times. Her husbands were actors Paul Douglas, from whom in 1945 she gave birth to a daughter Margaret Field Douglas, and Willard Parker . The actress died of cancer on January 2, 1992 in Palm Desert . [4] The body was cremated, and the dust was scattered over the sea. [5] Her contribution to the US film industry is marked by a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame . [6]
