Abanto ( Spanish Abanto ) is a municipality in Spain , part of the province of Zaragoza , in the autonomous community of Aragon . The municipality is part of the district (mosquitoes) of Comunidad de Calatayud . Located on the banks of the river Ortiz. The population is 145 people ( 2007 ). [2]

One of the first documented references refers to 1131 . Since the Middle Ages, very high quality salt has been produced here. The main crops are wheat , beans , hemp . Cattle breeding is developed. Textile manufacture.
In 1900, the population was 631 people, in 1950 - 827, reaching the highest level in the history of the settlement.
