Biography
He graduated from the Nikolaev Shipbuilding Institute .
He began his career in the slipway workshop of the Black Sea Shipbuilding Plant . He was transferred to the Central Design Bureau "Progress" and sent to study in graduate school. He continues to get involved in yacht designs. Created in 1970 the student design bureau of shipbuilding "YACHT" in the NKI and for many years was its supervisor.
In 1975, the crew of the cruising yacht " Arctic ", led by Captain Nemirov, won first place in the competition for the Black Sea Cup.
In 1976, the crew of the Arctic yacht for the first time from Soviet yachts sailed from the Black Sea to the Mediterranean. He went around the southernmost point of Europe - Cape Tenaron (Matapan) and reached the Yugoslav port of Split . On the way back, when leaving the Bosphorus, the yacht got into a very severe storm and the distance from the Bosphorus to Varna lasted 3 days. As it turned out later, in this area in October 1976 the strongest storm over the past 80 years passed, the lighthouses were damaged, and the pier of the port of Varna was damaged.
In 1977 "Arctic" repeated the campaign from Nikolaev to Split and back. All the straits and canals in this campaign, namely, the Bosphorus, Dardanelles, Corinth, were passed at night, and the passage of the Bosphorus was beneficial for a small vessel, which in total allowed a 30% reduction in the passage time. When entering Varna, there was a meeting with captain Georgi Georgiev, the national hero of Bulgaria, the first Bulgarian yachtsman who passed around the world on a 30-foot yacht.
In 1978, the “Arctic” went to sea again - this time the final point was Santa Cruz de Tenerife (Canary Islands). Over 3,000 miles have been covered in 34 days. In total, the campaign lasted from August 14 to November 12. The ports of call were Santa Cruz - de Tenerife - Ceuta - Athens - Varna.
In 1987-1988, Boris Nemirov sailed around the world on the Ikar yacht designed and built with friends [1] .
The two-masted yacht "Icarus" covered 32 thousand miles along the route Nikolaev - Canary Islands - Tasmania Island - Cape Horn - St. Helena Island - Canary Islands - Nikolaev.
In 1992, he took part in the transatlantic Grand Renate Columbus-92 in honor of the discovery of America. Delivered Ukrainian land to the USA from the grave of Taras Shevchenko in Kanev and laid it at the Statue of Liberty / archive of the Ukrainian diaspora newspaper in the USA “SVOBODA - FREEDOM” / In 2000, the Icarus yacht (captain - B. Nemirov) took part in the transatlantic Grand Regatta "Flight 2000".
