Estepona ( Spanish: Estepona ) - a municipality in Spain , part of the province of Malaga [1] , as part of the autonomous community of Andalusia . The municipality is part of the Costa del Sol Occidental district (mosquito). It covers an area of 137 km². The population is 66,150 people (as of 2010 ). The distance to the provincial capital is 83 km.

According to legend, she was the favorite place of the horse goddess Epona. Here, on a sunny, picturesque coast, there was a ritual sanctuary dedicated to this goddess. A small settlement gradually grew next to it. [2]
