Novosanzharsky district ( Ukrainian: Novosanzharsky district ) is an administrative unit in the south-east of the Poltava region of Ukraine . The administrative center is the urban-type settlement Novye Sanzhary .

Geography

Novosanzharsky district is located in the south-east of the Poltava region of Ukraine.

The Mashevsky , Poltava , Reshetilovsky , Kobelyak districts of the Poltava region, Tsarichansky and Magdalinovsky districts of the Dnipropetrovsk region are adjacent to it.

Area - 1300 km².

The administrative center is the urban-type settlement Novye Sanzhary .

The rivers Vorskla , Orel , Tagamlyk , Poluzerye , Kustolovo , Kobelyachka , Volchiy , Mayachka , Nekhvoroshchanka , Zaplavka flow through the district.

History

The district was founded in 1923 .
