Geography
Novosanzharsky district is located in the south-east of the Poltava region of Ukraine.
The Mashevsky , Poltava , Reshetilovsky , Kobelyak districts of the Poltava region, Tsarichansky and Magdalinovsky districts of the Dnipropetrovsk region are adjacent to it.
Area - 1300 km².
The administrative center is the urban-type settlement Novye Sanzhary .
The rivers Vorskla , Orel , Tagamlyk , Poluzerye , Kustolovo , Kobelyachka , Volchiy , Mayachka , Nekhvoroshchanka , Zaplavka flow through the district.
History
The district was founded in 1923 .

The population of the district is 39 983 people ( 2001 ), including urban - 8 146 people, rural - 31 837 people.
